The latest in the Wessex Region Summer Series of events took place at Littledown Centre on Saturday, organised by Ian and ably assisted by Jason and the Crickmore family. There was a reasonable turnout (39) and the WSX trio of James, Dale and Roger came 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. The results will be up on the website shortly. The next event is this coming Saturday, organised by SOC.

Although no WSX members went across to the NGOC Urban event at Ross-on-Wye nor the Mike Nelson BOK Trot at the weekend, myself, Rob Hick and John Cook competed in the 2-day OMM Lite event based at Speech House in the heart of the Forest of Dean. I partnered Carolyn Dent (BOK) while Rob and John paired up – both entering the Short Score course. My report on the weekend can be found here.

I’m delighted to say that Lyra Medlock has achieved the British Orienteering’s Racing Challenge: Gold Award. Well done, Lyra.

Only two people have come back to me regarding a possible club polo shirt (see previous Chairman’s Chat) – so if no-one else is interested, we’ll knock this idea on the head.

Finally, don’t forget to let me know if you want to come to either the Ten Pin Bowling evening on June 1st. Details here.
