BADO’s first ever contribution to the Wessex Night League is an Odd/Evens 1 hour score around Oakley Village.
Post Event Comments:
First time event for BADO in the Wessex Region Night League and they put on a splendid feast. Not only with a challenging course set by Night League veteran Mike Frizzell but with excellent food available at the Barley Mow, the venue for the evening. Oakley has a number of ‘blocked’ alleyways and there weren’t many of the 40 odd competitors that didn’t get caught out at some point. Looking at the results http://www.bado.org.uk/20171120results.html it’s hard to find anyone with an identical route which is always a good sign of a well-planned race. After six races the league is shaping up. Mike retains his second place thanks to the organiser points. Becca Ellis is up four to 4th, Gareth Radcliffe up 5 to 15th and Bernie Fowler, again thanks to organiser points, is up 12 to 20th. In the Handicap it’s the ladies that are doing all the moving up, Charlotte has taken top spot and frankly I can’t see her being deposed. Time will tell. Becca is up 5 places this time to 4th , Jane Morgan up 4 to 7th, Julie Astin up 4 to 9th and Ella Rush up 3 to 11th.Gavin Clegg
