A few WSX members ventured across for the ‘Sunny Sussex Weekend’ of events – and it was!

On Saturday morning, there was the Middle Distance event at Angmering, with top 10 places going to:

Eskarina =8th on Yellow; Lyra – 6th on Orange; Rebecca – 6th on Light Green and Jolyon – 7th on Blue. A Medlock triumph!

In the early evening, there was a lovely Urban event around Chichester where the map detail caught a few people out (including me!). But Peter Suba managed 4th on Men’s Vets, with Dale in 7th. On the Women’s Young Junior,Lyra came a magnificent 1st.

On the Sunday morning, with the sun still shining after the overnight rain showers, there were some tough, challenging courses and terrain at the Rewell Woods Long Distance event, near Arundel. I found the section contouring along a steepish slope covered in loose flint and leaves particularly tricky. Eskarina came 2nd on White, Rebecca 7th on Light Green and Peter 5th (1st M40) on Blue.

Well done to everyone for great effort – whether or not you achieved a top 10 place.

As regards upcoming events: you can still enter the SW Sprint Championships in Blandford next weekend.

All local events in the next few months are here
