A fine weekend in Bristol last weekend saw a few WSX members competing in two urban events – the BOK Blast. On the first day, there was a dastardly complex area with flyovers, underpasses, spiral staircases and other features leading to mass confusion among most competitors (including myself, of course!) Some managed to get it right, though, including Dale Paget who came 2nd on Supervet Men, only 3 seconds behind the winner! And only 2 seconds ahead of third place! It’s hard to imagine a closer race. Well done Dale.

Lyra came 1st on the Junior Girls course – over 5 minutes ahead of the other competitor. Excellent!

Onto upcoming events……

This Saturday 17th, Wimborne have a ‘Spring into Orienteering Day’ at Moors Valley Country Park. See their website for full details.

Our very own Poole Town Race is on this Sunday 18th – the number of entries has picked up nicely so it should be a lovely day, especially as the weather looks set fair. Entries on fabian4 close at midnight Thursday – there will be limited maps available on the day, however.

Then on Saturday, July 1st WIM have their Dorchester Urban event.

Have a great summer of orienteering!
