First of all, a very Happy and Healthy New Year to you all.

2018 started in fine style with Sarum’s New Year’s Day Score event at Tinney’s Firs and Woodfalls. Despite an unpromising start to the day, weather-wise, the orienteering gods shined on us and it turned out to be a gloriously sunny, though muddy, day. Over 100 turned out, with many from Wessex. There were, apparently, some bonus points to be had at some of the controls but I failed to realise this! But I still had an enjoyable run – part urban, part woodland. The best WSX results were Roger (18th) and Tim (20th).

The next event is SOC’s on Sunday 7th at Fritham and Bentley – and is now, finally, on fabian4. So get yourselves entered now.

The following evening (8th) is our own Night League event, organised by Tim, in Poole Town. Please let him know you are going by using the proforma accessed via our Home Page. It should be a great event, as always, and based at The Quay pub.

And finally, please let Roger know asap if you can help out at our Galoppen on February 11th at Holmsley (entries now open on fabian4).
