There are still a few more night events including BADO event on 23rd Feb at Kings Worthy and the final event on 2nd March at Queens and Kings Park, including presentations and food. Get your orders in.
Other local events coming up include the SOC Sunset and Beyond Relay in Southampton on 4th March (contact Roger if you want to join the WSX team) and the SARUM Saunter at Great Ridge (near Tisbury) on 19th March.
We are currently organising a number of events and mapruns for the summer. There will be 12 events (6 organised by WIM), which will run from April through to September. Six of these will also be Find Your Way events. For each event there will be a Maprun and there will be two weeks to compete, and results from these events will form a summer Maprun league. We did this during Covid and it was very popular. Information will soon follow about this, once we have agreed the programme with WIM.
The FYW events will be
1st April – Blandford Milldown (WIM)
13th May – Broadstone (WSX)
10th June – Sherborne (WIM)
8th July – Upton CP (WSX)
12th August – Durlston CP (WIM)
9th September – King’s Park, Boscombe (WSX)
The six Maprun events are still being decided, but they will include new areas of forest terrain for WIM and WSX including Ferndown Forest and Corfe Castle & Common
WIM are also conducting some training for orienteers of all ages. First session is at Ringwood Forest North on 11th March at 1330. Details on WIM website and please email Vicky.
See you all soon
