Holton Lee Permanent Course
Launch Event 19th September 2015
This marked the opening of 3 permanent courses at Holton Lee suitable for both foot and rugged mobility scooters (Trampers) which can be hired by on site. They include the meadows, the woods across the middle of the estate and the large heath area.
This event was held as part of the Holton Lee annual Fair, so there was a real holiday atmosphere. After introductions by Geoff Jones (the estate environment officer) and Neil Steven (the Charity director), the Swanage town crier performed the formal cutting of the tapes. Then one Tramper and 10 runners streamed out in various directions.
It was a simple format; visit all the 31 control markers on the estate in any order and the fastest runner wins.
Thanks to everyone who came and made it such a pleasant occasion.
